About Me

Hi there i'm not one for lengthy introductions so lets keep this short, I'm Matthew (you probably already guessed that)  i'm a photographer from the North East of England. I started to get into photography when i was around 15 and i instantly loved the challenge of capturing different images and challenging myself with different techniques but more importantly i loved the feeling and sense of accomplishment you get after capturing an image after a full day of shooting that i would be happy with and proud of. 

Photography
Photography, what can i say apart from i love it, i take my camera almost everywhere i go and even if i don't take any photos i know its there just in case something catches my eye, even if i'm not out on a mission to go to a location i find myself taking general photos of the things i find and see along the way, whether it be a lone sheep in a field or a generally nice scene i'd like to look back on later or to maybe even remember for a future shoot when the conditions are better.
 

Goals and Aims
Over the last few years i have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to shoot a few weddings and to start getting a feel for how to shoot them, this started with my friend who liked my work asking if i would be able to do the photography for their wedding and the interest went from there. Also in my free time i have been trying to get out as much as possible to improve and learn more about the skills needed for landscape photography such as how composition, shutter speed and depth of field/ aperture can completely change the feel of an image. 

So what am i doing now. I'm currently working on my portfolio and practicing my skills with both Landscape and Wedding shoots with the hope to one day become a full time Landscape/ Wedding photographer with the ability to produce images that people can love and cherish forever. i'm also aiming to be able to sell prints and ab able to book wedding packages through this website and social media.

Gear journey
When i first got into photography i was taking photos on my ipods camera  with a clip on macro and wide angle lens, i loved taking photos this way as it allowed me experiment with different styles of photography and how changing a lens could completely change an image, but that it turned out didn't quite have everything i was looking for in a camera both hardware and functionality, so after i'd got some birthday money i upgraded to a Fujifilm bridge camera that i then proceeded to loose a week after i bought it so my Nanna and Grandad  took pity on me at the time and replaced it a few days later while on holiday with my dad (which i will forever be grateful for), a few years later i decided that i needed an upgrade to that too which brings us to my current camera gear, i bought a second hand Nikon D3300 from CEX in 2019 in hope when it arrived it was in decent condition (it was) and this is when i started getting serious about photography and also when my passion started growing even more.
